At the 2009 District 12L Annual Convention held on February 7 & 8, David Butler of the Trimble Lions Club was elected First Vice District Governor.
Past District Governor Tony Martin of Scotts Hill Lions Club was elected District Governor.

David attended Lions World Service for the Blind (LWSB) where he learned more about the rehabilitation center. He experienced first hand the some of the services LWSB performs. For more information on this service, http://www.lwsb.org/
David Butler, 12 District 1st Vice District Governor, and Roger Taylor present an award to Bob Hurt for sponsoring 25 new members of Trimble Lions Club since his joining in 1979.
Bob Hurt presents Edwin Taylor an award from Lions Club International for being a member for 55 years.
Robert Hurt, Past District Governor and member of the Trimble Lions Club, received an International Leadership Award at the 91st Annual Multiple District 12L Lions Tennessee State Convention in Jackson recently. Hurt is flanked by Lions Club International Director Bill Watkins of Loudon and Council Chair Dean Harshbarger of Norris.

Beginning at the entrance to the covered bridge is the most popular ride for the children. The little train is pulled by Lion David, and when he returns, the waiting line is long again.
In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness" during the association's international convention. Today, Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired. Lions demonstrate their commitment to sight conservation through eyeglass recycling, sight partnerships and countless other sight services. Trimble Lions participate in eyeglass recycling and vision screening for elementary school children.
